If you are a restless player, hanging around the digital plane and lamenting the passage of time, you may run into Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Bad news, if you are one of the wraiths who refuse to move on. At her casual command, they move boxes and lift obstacles, and even lend a hand in combat, swarming Kena’s enemies like a flock of overly cute crows. The tools of her trade are a staff-forged, by the looks of it, from the gnarled boughs of a tree, with a blue gem wedged into one end-and a platoon of dark, bug-eyed helpers, called Rot. She is a spirit guide, a cross between a counsellor and a sanitation worker she cleans up ghosts as though they were spillages, but she does so with a consoling word and a solid plan of action. Kena: Bridge of Spirits was Ember Lab’s debut game, the studio made of movie animation experts credited for creating the famous Majora’s Mask - Terrible Fate fan film. In Kena: Bridge of Spirits, however, it’s entirely possible that they’ll augment more than just the character’s stats, but also specific skills as well. The update also introduces another gaming mode called the Spirit Guide Trials, which test the players’ skills with a variety of challenges categorized as Obstacle Courses, Wave Defenses, and Boss Reflects. Though it sounds a bit pointless to replay the game as an already built-up character, the combat encounters in New Game+ mode are redesigned to be more challenging. Kena: Bridge of Spirits‘ New Game+ mode is most certainly going to tickle the imagination of those who had previously completed the game, as it allows gamers who previously completed the game to restart the journey carrying over their entire character progression to the new game.
